Gordo, born Diamanté Anthony Blackmon on January 3, 1991, in Washington, D.C., is a Nicaraguan-American electronic music producer and DJ who has made significant waves in the music industry. Raised in Guatemala before moving back to the U.S. at age 10, he began his music career as Carnage, debuting in 2012 and quickly establishing himself in the EDM scene with hits like "The Underground" and "Toca." His debut album Papi Gordo (2015) featured collaborations with prominent hip-hop artists such as Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, and Rick Ross, and showcased his talent for blending genres. After releasing a second album, Battered Bruised & Bloody (2018), and a collaborative EP with Young Thug titled Young Martha (2017), he rebranded as Gordo in 2021, signaling a shift from trap to house and techno. Under this new alias, he released singles like "KTM" and "Taraka," and launched the Taraka event series across Europe and North America. In 2022, Gordo gained further acclaim by producing multiple tracks on Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind, including the hit "Sticky." He continued his work with Drake on the 2023 album For All the Dogs, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and innovative producer in the electronic music scene. Diamante, his first release under the Gordo moniker, arrived in 2024 and featured the Top 10 Drake collaboration "Sideways." Other guest artists in the album included T-Pain, Larry June, Fuerza Regida, Nicki Nicole, Maluma, and Feid.
