White Denim are an American four-piece rock band from Texas who emerged from the vibrant live music scene in 2006 and a year later released their critically-acclaimed debut EP 'Let's Talk About It'. The band are a combination of two previously established groups, Parque Touch and Peach Train, who merged after playing a gig at Austin's Beerland venue.
The band have toured extensively and in 2008 signed to the UK label Full Time Hobby in order to promote their material to European audiences. Their debut release for the label was an album titled 'Workout Holiday LP', a compilation of some re-recorded versions of earlier material plus some new songs. Their music draws from a wide range of musical influences including dub, prog rock, jazz, soul and punk and is often presented in an experimental form with unusual song structures, a heavy reliance on digital loops and a willingness to improvise and jam. It's a style which is unlikely to bring wide commercial success but which has brought the group significant critical acclaim for their groundbreaking approach to songwriting.
