The Letter Black

The Letter Black, formerly known as Breaking the Silence, is an American Christian rock band formed in 2006 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The group originally started as a church praise team featuring lead vocalist Sarah Anthony and lead guitarist Mark Anthony. After signing with Tooth & Nail Records, they changed their name to The Letter Black and released Breaking the Silence EP (2009). Their debut studio album, Hanging On by a Thread, appeared in 2010. Their subsequent releases include the remix album Hanging On By a Remix (2012) and the studio album Rebuild (2013), which featured the singles “Sick Charade” and “Pain Killer”. They signed with EMP Label Group to release the studio album Pain (2017), which was preceded by the single “Last Day That I Cared”. The band later signed with Rockfest Records, releasing their self-titled studio album in 2021. Their subsequent studio recordings include the albums Paper (2026) and Ink (2026).
