A gothic metal band from Hamburg, Germany, Lord of the Lost was formed in 2007 by singer Chris Harms. The frontman originally conceived of the band as a solo project, then expanded Lord of the Lost's lineup to include bassist Klaas Helmecke, guitarist Stefan Ehrhardt, guitarist Sebastian Makowski, and drummer Anika in 2008. This roster would fluctuate throughout the years, but Lord of the Lost remained prolific despite its shifting lineup. Fears, the band's debut album, was released in 2010, followed by Antagony in 2011 and Die Tomorrow in 2012. Die Tomorrow reached Number 34 on the German Albums Chart, the first of nine consecutive albums to reached the Top 40 in Lord of the Lost's homeland. The next album, From the Flame into the Fire, climbed to Number 18 in 2014, with the live album Swan Songs hitting Number 34 one year later. 2016's Empyrean and 2017's Swan Songs II continued the band's success. Meanwhile, Lord of the Lost's lineup coalesced around Chris Harms, Klass Helmecke, and three new members: drummer Niklas Kahl, guitarist Pi Stoffers, and multi-instrumentalist Gerrit Heinemann. This new roster pushed Lord of the Lost to greater success in 2020, with the album Judas peaking at Number 2 in 2021. Judas was an international hit, too, reaching Number 40 in Austria and Number 50 in Switzerland. One year later, the band rose to Number 1 in Germany with Blood & Glitter, an album featuring the singles "Not My Enemy" and "Blood & Glitter."
