Deborah Salvatrice Blando, born 3 March 1969 in Sant'Agata di Militello, Sicily, is an Italian‑Brazilian singer who began performing at age two and later joined children’s choirs in Florianópolis after her family moved to Brazil; her early exposure to television and radio set the stage for a professional career. In 1991 she released her debut album A Different Story, featuring the single "Innocence" which topped the Brazilian charts for 13 weeks and entered international markets, followed by "Boy (Why Do You Want to Make Me Blue)" and other tracks that secured her a contract with Epic Records; the album was reissued in 1993 as a special edition. She signed with Atlantic and later Virgin Records, releasing Unicamente (1997) and the self‑titled Deborah Blando (1998), the latter achieving gold status in Portugal; collaborations with David Foster, Patrick Leonard, and others marked this period. In 2000 she issued Salvatrice, an album of Italian covers, and in 2002 Universal released the greatest‑hits compilation A Luz Que Acende o Olhar. After a hiatus prompted by health issues, she returned in 2011 with acoustic tours, recorded new material for the soap opera Guerra dos Sexos, and released the album In Your Eyes (2013). Subsequent singles "One Truth" (2018) and the EP Heart of Gold (2019) continued her presence, while 2020 saw the release of the previously unreleased album Polares and a digital edition of A Different Story to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
