Canadian rockers Rik Emmett, Mike Levine and Gil Moore formed the hard rock, heavy metal band Triumph in the mid-1970s and produced a series of albums with hit singles. Influenced by British progressive rock artists, they garnered international attention with dynamic arena rock performances featuring vocalist Emmett on lead guitar, Levine on bass and keyboards and Moore on drums. An eponymous debut album was released in 1976 followed by 'Rock & Roll Machine' (1977), 'Just a Game' (1979), 'Progressions of Power' (1980), 'Allied Forces' (1981), 'Never Surrender' (1982), 'Thunder Seven' (1984) and 'The Sport of Kings' (1985).
Their biggest single was 'All the Way' which peaked at number two on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs Chart in 1983. Other hits included 'A World of Fantasy' in 1983, which reached number three on the chart, 'Magic Power' which got to number eight, 'Somebody's Out There' which made number nine and 'Spellbound' which made number ten. They were nominated for several Juno Awards in Canada but Emmett left to pursue a solo career in 1988 to be replaced by Phil X but and the band called it quits in 1993. The original threesome reunited for some concerts to mark their entry into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and released a concert CD/DVD 'Live at Sweden Rock Festival'.
