Biografia

A key figure in Arab pop, Saad Lamjarred was born on April 7, 1985 in Rabat, Morocco. The son of singer Bachir Lamjarred, better known as Bachir Abdou, and actress Nezha Regragui, he naturally chose show business as a path to fulfilment. First enrolled at the Conservatoire National de Musique, he made his stage debut alongside his father before moving to the United States for a decade. Saad Lamjarred's career then took off in Lebanon, where he took part in the 4th edition of the Lebanese TV show SuperStar in 2007 and reached the final. The following year, still in Lebanon, he took part in the Lamin al ghinia singing competition, where he presented his first official single, "Baheb elly byekrahni". However, it wasn't until 2009 and the track "Waadini" that he became a household name. However, from 2010 onwards, his image was tarnished by legal setbacks, including accusations of rape and aggravated violence, leading to a six-year prison sentence in 2023, which he appealed. In the meantime, he has won over a wide audience with music that combines Moroccan dialect and a wide variety of styles, including American pop, Arab pop, traditional Moroccan music, rap and raï. He released the album Wala Aalik in 2013, and some of the best-known tracks in his repertoire include "Enty" in 2014, "Lm3allem" in 2015, "Ghaltana" in 2016, "Let Go" in 2017, and "Casablanca", a track sung entirely in French in 2018.
