Renaud Capuçon is a French classical violinist who appears in solo recitals regularly and performs with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Europe.

Born in France, he studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and the Berlin Academy of Arts. After three summers as concert master of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, he toured the world as a soloist with appearances at festivals in England, Scotland, Germany, France, Spain and America. He made his album debut in 2001 with pianist Jérôme Ducros on 'Franz Schubert: Grand Duo, Rondo Brillant, Fantaisie' followed by recordings of works by Ravel, Franck, Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schubert.

'Brahms: Piano Quartets 1-3', with his brother cellist Gautier Capuçon, violist Gerard Causse and pianist Nicholay Angelich, peaked at number 50 on Billboard's Classical Albums Chart in 2008 while 'Brahms: Double Concerto' (2011) with his brother, pianist Myung-Whun Chung and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, went to number 19. In 2016 he became artistic director of the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad Festival in Switzerland and in 2018 he released 'Bartók: Violin Concertos No. 1 and No. 2' with London Symphony Orchestra conducted by François-Xavier Roth.
