Biografia

Gandhi Djuna (born on May 6, 1986), who goes by the name Maître Gims, is a Congolese hip-hop performer who grew up in France where he began his musical career there as a teenager. He became a member of the rap collective Sexion d'Assaut in 2003 and released his debut solo album, Subliminal, in 2013. The LP went straight to the top of the Belgian albums chart and reached Number 2 in France. The track “J'me tire” topped the France Digital Song Sales chart as “Changer” entered the Top 10 in his adoptive country. Also in 2013, the single “Bella” hit the top of the charts, “Zombie” reached Number 3 and he was featured on Vitaa's “Game Over,” which landed at Number 2. His 2015 release Mon Coeur Avait Raison quickly became a chart leader in France and Belgium and went to Number 11 on Billboard's World Albums chart. That same year, he scored yet another chart-topper with “Cadeaux,” while “Est-ce que tu m'aimes?,”Brisé,” and “Laissez passer” all became Top 10 singles. In 2016, “Je te pardonne” hit Number 7 and he made an appearance on Niska's Number 1 single “Elle avait son djo.” The star-studded Ceinture Noire (2018) also dominated the French charts and included cameos by Lil Wayne, Sofiane, and Vianney. A deluxe version featuring J Balvin, Maluma, and Sting saw the light in 2019, and fourth album Le Fléau hit the shelves only a year later.
