Since 2011, sonic shape-shifter Deniz Koyu has been tearing up the club floors with his masterful take on dance music. An ever-evolving artist, Deniz Koyu is in a class of his own with his perfect production, high-energy shows and innovative sounds. Known as a producer’s producer – who counts Axwell & Ingosso, Alesso, the late Avicii, David Guetta and Nicky Romero among his biggest fans – Deniz is the genius behind hits ‘Tung’, ‘Hertz’, ‘Bong’, ‘Follow You’ and has released remixes for the likes of The Chainsmokers, Zedd, Miike Snow and David Guetta. 2016 saw Deniz experiment with new sounds and genres as he started also releasing music under the alias KO:YU. The more alternative sound that crossed over to the dance pop realm won him even more fans with stand-out tracks ‘Trippy’, ‘Don’t Wait’ (feat Example) and ‘15 Sleeps’ released on prestigious labels including Sony and Tiësto’s Musical Freedom. Under his original name, Deniz Koyu continues to build on his progressive house roots. In 2018 Deniz Koyu released ‘Atlantis’ on Spinnin’ Records which got picked up by the DJ elite and he later collaborated with Nicky Romero on the groundbreaking track ‘Paradise’. Having remixed for Alesso, The Chainsmokers and Galantis, Deniz Koyu is one of the most in-demand DJs to play on the world’s biggest stages at Tomorrowland, Ultra, Creamfields, ADE, international tours across Europe, USA and South East Asia, as well as special guest performances for Alesso and KSHMR. Deniz Koyu’s huge following and success as a musician can be traced back to his very early years, when Deniz first laid hands on a piano and his obsession with music set in. He spent his formative years immersed in the world of DJ production hardware, and readily swapped his pocket money for all the second-hand synths and drum machines he could find. Hours were spent dissecting Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk or Cassius, or honing his DJ skills and editing favourite tracks using the humble tape recorder or whatever he could find. So, when Deniz Koyu burst onto the global music consciousness with ‘Tung’ and ‘Hertz’, the obsession paid off and he became a fully professional DJ producer. After Fedde Le Grand snapped up Deniz’s first two productions on his Flamingo Recordings imprint, the young producer soon earned a wealth of critical acclaim. Le Grand voted Deniz his ‘Breakthrough DJ/Producer’ in 2011 and Deniz Koyu’s tracks became staples in the sets of the global powerhouse, Swedish House Mafia. Huge remixes for Zedd (‘Spectrum’), Miike Snow (‘Pretender’), David Guetta (‘Just One Last Time’) and Fedde Le Grand (‘So Much Love’) have established Deniz Koyu as one of the favourite ‘go-to guys’ for the A-List DJs. Outside the studio, Deniz Koyu has been on a seemingly constant whirlwind tour with support from many of his peers, including a massive tour with his DJ buddy Danny Avila, taking in 20 cities in just 25 days. Selling out events, taking over the North American continent and becoming the online buzzword in EDM as he went, Deniz Koyu had landed. There was simply no stopping him – from there, he went on to perform at some of the most important music festivals in the world including Tomorrowland in Belgium and TomorrowWorld in the US, Electric Zoo, Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival Miami and Europe, as well as the world’s #1 club Green Valley and residencies at Wynn in Las Vegas and Privilege, Ibiza. As Deniz explored his creativity further through his side project KO:YU, he incorporated heavy, infectious pop hooks with cutting edge sound design, all wrapped up in his signature perfect production style. His new music exposed him to a wider audience and even greater acclaim, which won him remixes for The Chainsmokers (‘Young’), Alesso & Anitta (‘Is That For Me’) and collaborative remixes with Galantis (‘Mama Look At Me Now’) and Alesso (‘I Wanna Know’, ‘Vai Malandra’). Deniz’s 2018 hit tracks ‘Atlantis’ and ‘Paradise’ (collaboration with Nicky Romero) cemented his place as the most progressed progressive house producer around. With his unwavering determination to push his musicality beyond himself, there’s much more to come from Deniz Koyu both inside and outside the studio. Stay tuned, watch out, listen up and bounce hard!
