Biografia

Felix Martin Andreas Matthias Blume (August 3, 1984), who goes by the name Kollegah, is a German rapper born of a Canadian father and German mother, who garnered attention for provocative rap songs that have been accused of antisemitism. He has also been consistently topping the German charts with releases like King (2014), Zuhältertape Volume 4 (2015), and Imperator (2018). A convert to Islam, Kollegah made a series of collaborative albums with fellow rapper Farid Bang titled Jung Brutal Gutaussehend, whose third volume sold well in Germany and landed them the BVMI Music Industry Association's Echo Prize for Best Hip-Hop/Urban Recording in 2017. It caused so much outrage due to lyrics that referred to Auschwitz, among other controversial topics, that many other Echo winners returned their awards. BVMI subsequently scrapped the awards, the rap duo issued an apology, and their label donated substantial funds to fight antisemitism. After a break from the business, Blume revealed his seventh studio album Monument in 2018. Like many of his previous releases, Monument shot straight to the top of the charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It was followed by yet another blockbuster album titled Alphagene II (2019), a sequel to his 2007 studio debut, and the collaborative full-length Natural Born Killas (2021) with rapper Asche. Also in 2021, Kollegah resumed his creative partnership with Farid Bang on the single “Roid Rage,” which peaked at Number 15 in Germany.
