Rhett Walker (born on February 24, 1997 in South Carolina, U.S.A) is an American singer and songwriter. Raised the son of a pastor, Walker grew up performing as a drummer at his church. A tumultuous adolescence led him back to the Christian faith at 17 years old, where he began to perform worship songs as a lead vocalist. Moving to Nashville in 2011, Walker formed the Rhett Walker Band in 2012 with Kenny Davis (drums), Joe Kane (guitar) and Kevin Whitsett (bass) and the group released their debut single “When Mercy Found Me” on April 23, 2012 which was later nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. In July, 2012, the band released their first album Come to the River, which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Christian charts, followed by 2014 album Here’s to the Ones which peaked at number 12. In 2016, the group disbanded, with Walker continuing his career as a solo artist, releasing his first album Good to Me, a fusion of Southern and Christian rock on March 27, 2020, with its lead single “Believer” charting at number 5. In 2021, Walker released a five-track EP Gospel Song, its self-titled lead single peaking at number 2, attracting considerable commercial success on both the Billboard Christian and Christian Airplay charts.
