Grupo Chocolate was a Brazilian pagode quartet formed in 2019 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, by Gabriel Rocha, Luiz Alberto, Léo Maia and Matheus Dias. They first built traction through live-format releases that stitched together pagode and samba staples into long medleys, launching the series Canta, Chocolate! (Ao Vivo) and then expanding it in 2022 with Canta, Chocolate! 2 (Ao Vivo), a project that helped position them as a high-energy “roda de samba” act as much as a streaming-first group. In 2023, Grupo Chocolate translated that local buzz into a national-facing single moment with “Virei Freguês,” recorded with Rodriguinho, and kept feeding their live-catalog identity with additional Canta, Chocolate! volumes and singles that reinforced their romantic, radio-friendly pagode lane. In 2024 they widened their collaborative network and audience again with “Dói Mas Passa (Ao Vivo)” alongside Grupo Envolvência, and followed with the standalone single “Ela é Ela,” which became one of their most-played studio tracks on major platforms. By 2025, the group’s release schedule accelerated, combining fresh original cuts with continued live-medley drops; they issued “Golpe Baixo” featuring Vitor Limma and released the full-length Canta, Chocolate!, Vol. 5, consolidating their repertoire into an album-length statement. Late in 2025, Grupo Chocolate reached their biggest mainstream spike with “Alô Virgínia (Ao Vivo),” a collaboration with Turma do Pagode that went viral online and pulled the group into broader pop-culture conversation beyond the pagode circuit.
