The Shorts were a Dutch pop group formed in 1976, consisting of Hans Van Vondelen (vocals), Erik de Wildt (keyboards), Hans Stokkermans (bass) and Peter Wezenbeek (drums). Their main achievement was the song "Comment ça va", which became a genuine international hit in 1983. It's about a French boy and girl who can't communicate because they speak different languages. The group, who released a single album the same year featuring another French track ("Je suis, tu es"), gave their last recorded performance at the Sopot Festival in Poland the following year. Hans Von Vondelen and Peter Wezenbeek switched to studio work, while Hans Stokkermans, who continued as bassist, became a detective, and Erik de Wildt a pharmacist.
