Biografia

Jane Marczewski – born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 29, 1990 – was a singer, songwriter, and musician better known by her stage name Nightbirde. She began her musical journey at the age of six when she helped her mom write lyrics to a song. As she grew up, she became involved in several church ministries before attending Licking County Christian Academy, graduating in 2009. She also earned a degree in marketing communications from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. While attending Liberty University in 2011, she gave her first live performance and uploaded her early recordings on social media platforms. In 2012, as Jane Marczewski, she issued her first EP, Lines, and followed that a year later with her second EP, Ocean & Sky. Still living in Lynchburg, she began to build a local following thanks to her live performances. She returned to Ohio, married Jeremy Claudio, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she performed under the name Jane Claudio. After contributing music to the soundtrack for the 2015 documentary Leonard Knight: A Man & His Mountain, she changed her stage name to Nightbirde. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 but was found to be cancer-free in July 2018. The cancer returned the following year and was given three to six months to live. Focusing her attention back on music, she pursued a new sound that embraced electropop. Her first single as Nightbirde was 2019’s “Girl in a Bubble,” which was followed by “Fly” that same year. In 2020, she released the single – and her most popular song – “It’s OK.” She divorced her husband and relocated to Long Beach, California. he was also told that she was cancer-free yet again. Shortly before auditioning for the competition show America’s Got Talent in 2021, she was told that her cancer had spread to her lungs, spine, liver. She still went to the audition and earned a Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell himself. However, in August 2021, she left the show due to her declining health. Jane Marczewski – a.k.a. Nightbirde – died on February 19, 2022. Nearly one year later, on what would have been her 32nd birthday, her family released the single “The Story I’ll Tell,” which was a cover version of the song by Maverick City Music. The song was the last thing that she had recorded before she died.
