Pedro Valença (born Pedro Valença de Almeida on August 28, 1988, in São Paulo) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and arranger whose work sits at the crossroads of contemporary Christian music, pop, and MPB-leaning songwriting, and who has often appeared within the wider Vocal Livre circle as a collaborator and creative partner. After building credits in faith-based vocal and live-performance contexts, he stepped forward with recorded projects under his own name, including the studio release Horizontal II (2021). In 2022, he leaned into the live format across multiple releases, including das que não podem faltar (Ao Vivo) and the collaborative Ventania (Ao Vivo) with Ventania, expanding his profile through songs tied to live-band energy and congregational sing-along dynamics; “Tantos Mares” became one of the best-known titles linked to his name from this period. In 2023, he broadened his collaborations again with “Flutuar,” released with Daniela Araújo and Vocal Livre, reinforcing his place in Brazil’s modern gospel ecosystem where artists frequently trade roles between composer, featured vocalist, and musical director. In 2024, that ecosystem reached a new visibility point when Vocal Livre’s album Temporal earned a Latin Grammy nomination in the Portuguese-language Christian album field.
