Angelo De Augustine

Angelo De Augustine, a Californian singer‑songwriter and guitarist born in Thousand Oaks, grew up in a family of musicians that later saw his father leave when he was five. A teenage goal to become a professional soccer player ended with injury, leading him to music. In 2014 he self‑produced Spirals of Silence and toured, followed by Swim Inside the Moon (2017) recorded in a bathtub on a 1970 four‑track tape and released through Asthmatic Kitty. NPR highlighted "Carcassonne" in 2018. His 2019 studio debut Tomb featured the singles "Tomb" and "Time". In 2021, he partnered with Sufjan Stevens on A Beginner's Mind (2021) and, after three years of solo production, issued Toil and Trouble (2023). Three years later, Angelo De Augustine returned with Angel in Plainclothes, produced by Jonathan Wilson.
