Unrelenting Mimesis - Game music album coming in April!
Before watching Star Wars, Matheus never knew that music could evoke so much emotion and change. He then realized art had the power to make an impact in the world. He had to give it a try. With this inspiration in mind, Matheus started playing guitar and bass in his childhood, later becoming a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer.
Matheus still didn't bring down the empire, but he became specialized in audio recording, working on more than 100 albums with musicians such as Elizabeth Zharoff, Diogo Mafra, Howard Drossin, Laura Intravia and Mark Zonder, as well as bands such as The Vicious Head Society, Time Machinery, Eden Seed, Manente / Alonzo / Du Bose and many others.
In 2014, Matheus released his first solo album Illusions Dimension, described as “one of the great progressive releases of the year” in international reviews. The concept was based on philosophical struggles, inspired by the power of music to make people think, question the world and evolve.
In 2018, Matheus was part of the Notevember challenge, where musicians do one song per day, from scratch to finish, throughout the entire month. The highlights, which are very experimental and short in nature, were released as the Selections from Notevember 2018 EP.
Since game music has always been a huge part of his career (his first album being a Super Mario fan tribute released in 2008), now Matheus releases Unrelenting Mimesis - a prog metal celebration of the soundtracks that influenced him the most.
