Biografia

Better known by his stage name Taemin, Lee Tae-Min was born on July 18, 1993, in Seoul, South Korea. Making his music debut at the tender age of 14 in the K-Pop group SHINee, the teenager who was also highly skilled in dance, was invited to become an actor in MBC comedy Tae Hee, Hye Kyo, Ji Hyun. In the following years, he managed to juggle not just his acting career, but the rigour that came with being known as one of the “Princes of K-Pop.” In 2014, Taemin released debut solo EP Ace, which reached Number 1, partly due to the success of the single "Danger” which charted at number 5. Buoyed by this success, he announced his first album, Press It, in 2016, which also shot to the top of the charts, before electrifying Japanese fans with the EP Sayonara Hitori which landed at number 3. Continuing to release music in both markets, Taemin released Korean album Move in 2017 and Japanese album Taemin in 2018, with both albums reaching the number 2 position in both countries. In the same year, he became a member of the supergroup SuperM, founded by the label SM Entertainment before releasing two-part Korean studio album Never Gonna Dance Again with lead singles “Criminal” and “Idea” receiving critical acclaim. In 2021, he released a third mini-album titled Advice which went to number 2, before fulfilling his military obligations. SHINee, which continued its activities despite the loss of its main vocalist Jonghyun in 2017, released a new album called Hard in 2023, to which Taemin contributed, prior to the release of his fourth solo mini-album, titled Guilty, which debuted at number 4 in Korean and 12 in Japan, seeing the title track reach the U.S World charts, coming in at number 9.
