Sortie de mon nouvel EP " Orientée " le 26 avril 2024 . En concert a l'Institut du Monde Arabe le 19/06/24 à 19h00.
Yara Lapidus is a tightrope walker, striding across universes with a skipping agility. Creating seismic shocks, merging lands that seem discordant, such as traditional Arabic music and Western pop, daring indie rock and Parisian-infused immersions.
A voluptuous escapade in the company of the legendary Iggy Pop,a truly added value to the deluxe version of the album "Indéfiniment," recorded in Abbey Road studios.
With "Back to Colors" Yara Lapidus was obsessed with reconnecting to her Oriental roots. She is indeed "Orientée”. The double meaning of the word embraces the characteristics of her personality, driven by unbridled ambition, and unconstrained creative impulses.
"Orientée" symbolizes firsts. The first time she infuses all the pieces of a project with Oriental sounds. Most importantly, the first time a David Bowie song is adapted into Arabic. "The Man Who Sold the World" becomes "Elli," wrapped in a veil that she maintains in her voice, like an assertive modesty. Gail-Ann Dorsey (David Bowie's dedicated bassist)produces it.A breakthrough with minimalist arrangements.Yara has proven a genuine taste for exchanges and a true knack for encounters : Chico Cesar,Craig Walker(Archive),Fyfe Dangerfield (Guillemots) .Not to mention,Gabriel Yared and Jean-Louis Piérot (respective producers of the albums "Indéfiniment" and "Back to Colors").
