Eleni Foureira, born Entela Fureraj on March 7, 1987, in Fier, Albania, is an Albanian-born Greek singer and dancer. Her family moved to Greece during the 1997 Albanian civil unrest, settling in Athens. She began pursuing music at a young age, learning guitar and working in theater for three years. Eleni Foureira started her music career with the girl group Mystique in 2007. After the group disbanded in 2009, she launched her solo career with Universal Music Greece, releasing her chart-topping eponymous studio debut in 2010. She then signed with Minos EMI, releasing two more albums, Ti Poniro Mou Zitas (2012) and Anemos Agapis (2014), both of which landed in the Greek Top 10. She gained wider recognition with her role in the musical Barbarella: the 80's Musical (2015-2016) and as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance Greece. Her fourth album, Vasilissa, was released in 2017. In 2018, Eleni Foureira represented Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Fuego," finishing as the runner-up, Cyprus' best result to date. This success led to a record deal with Sony Music and the release of several hit singles, including "Caramela" and "Tómame." Her first international project, the EP Gypsy Woman, was released in 2019, followed by performances at Eurovision 2019. In 2021, she released the singles "Light It Up" and "Dokimase Me." Her fifth studio album, "Poli Ploki," came out in 2022. In 2023, Eleni Foureira embarked on the Reborn Tour and achieved diamond certification for the deluxe version of "Poli Ploki," becoming the first Greek artist to do so. In May 2024, she performed as an opening act for the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final. "Aeroplano," a collaboration with producing team Beyond, arrived later that year and cracked the Top 100 of the Greek charts.
