Biografia

American soul singer and songwriter Tevin Campbell is best known for his Number One R&B hits “Tell Me What You Want Me to Do”, “Alone with You”, and “Can We Talk” alongside Top Ten hits “Just Ask Me To”, “Goodbye”, “Shhh”, “Always in My Heart”, and “I’m Ready”. He has received five Grammy nominations, four of them for Male R&B Vocal Performance. Tevin Campbell released his Platinum-selling debut album, T.E.V.I.N., in 1991 on Quest/Warner Brothers. The album featured his first two Number One singles. It also featured the track “Round and Round”, which was written and produced by Prince. Other producers on the album include Narada Michael Walden, Quincy Jones, Arthur Baker, and Al B. Sure. His second album, I’m Ready, was released in 1993 and went double Platinum. The album includes three songs written and produced by Prince and two written and produced by Babyface & Daryl Simmons. His third album, Back to the World, was released in 1996 and featured production by Sean Combs. That album was followed three years later by his self-titled album. In July of 1999, he was arrested in California after soliciting a lewd act from an undercover police officer. Campbell then withdrew from the public eye, releasing The Best of Tevin Campbell in 2002. Rumors circulated in 2009 and 2015 that Tevin Campbell was working on new material but no album was released. Outside of music, he has appeared on television shows such as Moesha, The Parent ‘Hood, and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He also starred in Graffiti Bridge, the film written, directed, and starring Prince.
