Camisa de Vênus

Camisa de Vênus is a Brazilian rock group formed in 1982 in Salvador, Bahia, by Marcelo Nova, Robério Santana, Karl Hummel, and Gustavo Mullem. The ensemble signed with WEA Records and released the debut single “Controle total” in 1983. The band's namesake debut studio album appeared in 1983 and included the song “Bete morreu”. In July 2016, Rolling Stone Brasil ranked this recording at number 7 among Brazilian punk rock albums. The group released Batalhões de estranhos in 1984, which featured the track “Eu não matei Joana D’Arc”. In 1986, the ensemble released the live recording Viva! and the studio album Correndo o risco. Following the 1987 release Duplo sentido, the group became inactive. The ensemble resumed activity in 1994 and released Quem é você? in 1996. Hummel died in June 2017. Mullem died on May 28, 2024.
