If you're familiar with the French independant scene, you might have heard the graceful high tones of Jo Wedin. Indeed, the Paris- based Swedish singer-songwriter has deftly woven her unique voice across different groups and genres: in collaboration with other artists (Yuksek, Télépopmusik, Alex Rossi, Miami Horror), in a band with Jean Felzine, and now going solo. The voice has always been at the center of Jo Wedin's music. She's an artist who has experimented throughout her career, finding and developing hersound. She's been writing songs for many years, touring mainly in France with her frenchpop duo, and singing jazz and soul in hotels in Paris. Her first EP is a groovy blend of soul and pop that places an emphasis on the smooth texture of the voice. Inspired by the past (Minnie Riperton, Janet Jackson) as well as the present (Jenevieve, Blood Orange), Jo wedin's music skillfully mixes 70's soul and the chemical groove of modern R'n'B and pop.
