“Renunciation” is the act of rejecting something you refuse to support. Our philosophy at The Renunciate is to be simple and to make music/art with what we have available to us. We renounce overcomplexity, overthinking, overanalyzing, and generally nitpicking what we create. We are trying to get over our fear of failure/rejection and replace that with the things we love. However, we recognize that this is a process and that it takes a long time to find your voice as an artist. That’s why a lot of our songs are about stories that people love, but also stories that have real characters who struggle and feel. We want to highlight that interplay between pain and productivity. We hope you’re inspired by our simplistic method, it’s all we can hope for.
