Hi! My name is Alexey Baskov. I am the author of music and lyrics of the Russian music project "Stay close".
What a person will become in adult life, or at least what he is predisposed to become, is indicated by the actions that he performs in childhood, without yet realizing what they mean.
I had it just like that. When I was 9 or 10, I started writing poetry. Simple, not long... passing on to the paper what I was interested in, what I was excited about. At the age of 12 or 13, the first motives in my head turned poems into songs. I tapped the rhythms with spoons on the pots (causing quite reasonable discontent of the neighbors), and recorded, so as not to forget, my motives on an old cassette recorder.
When I was 18, the first synthesizer appeared in my life, and at 19 - the first software that allowed me to record music on a computer. From that moment, the creation of full-fledged compositions began, which could already be shown to people.
Growing up, I absorbed new knowledge about music and poetry like a sponge, met new creative people, learned from them and was always happy to teach them something by myself... everything what I could teach at any given time.
Today I stand before you, ready to share the most valuable of all that I have - my music, my thoughts. And if at least one person feels warmer at heart from these songs, then the inspiration has not in vain been living inside me for the last 25 years.
