City Riots, an Australian indie rock band from Adelaide, formed in 2005 with Ricky Kradolfer as lead vocalist. Their single "Burning Me Out" in 2008 received national airplay on Triple J and was nominated for the Unearthed J Award. The group released their debut EP City Riots in November 2006, followed by Socialize in 2008 and Matchsticks in 2011. City Riots toured extensively with acts such as Smashing Pumpkins and Cobra Starship. In 2012, they released their debut album Sea of Bright Lights, which included the track "She Never Wants to Dance" that received high rotation on Triple J. The band's frontman Ricky Kradolfer won the Best Music Manager award at the Fowler’s Live Awards in 2013. City Riots disbanded by November 2016, with their last post on social media dating from February of that year.
