Veronica Keding is a pop artist from Sweden. With her strong lyrics she touches matters close to the heart having started writing poems and music already at an early age. She grew up in the northern part of Sweden where the vast areas and deep forests was a source of inspiration.
To enjoy the silence, the tranquility of taking long walks is the perfect setting for growing ideas and new concepts.
”It’s important to keep a positive karma otherwise everything is going to feel anonymous and soulless” she says.
In 2011, together with her husband John Keding, who writes the music, she started out on a musical journey that so far has spanned 3 singles in Swedish. With great lyrics and strong vocals together with an wide array of electronic sounds, from the first clubby single “Kärlekens farkost”, to the second more mellow “Maskrosbarn” and the edgier third single “Det är slut nu” she is slowly but surely creating a following.
Veronica wants to be an inspiration to others with her lyrics, not shying away from sometimes writing about very tough subjects. She has always seen herself as somewhat of an outsider and music has always been an important outlet for her and she definitely has something to say.
”If you want to be creative and goal oriented you have to surround yourself with the right set of energies to succeed. To surround yourself with the people you love and stop wasting love on people who doesn’t love you back focusses your energy and makes you stronger” she says.
The themes of the songs are important. The 1st single “Kärlekens Farkost” which was released in May 2013, is about a man and woman and no matter what happens they are soul mates and each other’s support. The 2nd single “Maskrosbarn” which was released in September 2013, is about alienation in society, children growing up in sometimes horrible environments with drugs, abuse or mental sickness.
But these children despite these circumstances blossom like a flower. The 3rd single“Det är slut nu” which was released in January 2014, tackles the end of a relationship and the mixed feelings of sorrow, relief, bitterness and hope when you move on.
The music has an electronic foundation stemming from John’s long experience with synthesizers and workstations and together with Veronicas lyrics and vocals set the tone for the songs. No doubt the close the relationship they have knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses makes this a very inspiring and productive collaboration.
The 4th single ”Don ́t ever follow me” was released on October 21, 2014. It is their first single in English and is inspired by the movie ”The girl with the dragon tattoo”. The song is about empowering and strengthen women with low self-esteem and John has done a great mix between darker beats and catchy melodies with the dance floor in mind.
