Goodtime Boys was a British hardcore punk and emo band formed in 2009. The ensemble consisted of vocalist Alexander, drummer Casey, bassist Leigh McAndrew, and guitarists Samuel and Lewin Johns. Based in Cardiff, the group gained attention in the underground scene and released its debut EP, Are We Now, or Have We Ever Been, in 2011 through Tangled Talk Records. After signing with Bridge Nine Records, the band released the full-length album What's Left to Let Me Go and the EP Every Landscape in 2012. In 2013, they collaborated with the American group Self Defense Family on a split EP. The ensemble’s second studio album, Rain, was issued in May 2014. Throughout its career, the group toured extensively across Europe, performing alongside notable acts such as Caspian and Defeater. On January 6, 2015, the group announced their disbandment, effectively ending their six-year career in the alternative music scene.
