Benjamin Joel Esser, known mononymously as Esser, is an English electropop and indie pop singer, songwriter, and producer. He began releasing music with the singles "I Love You" and "Satisfied," both in 2008, followed by "Work It Out"and "Headlock" in 2009. His debut album, Braveface, was released via Transgressive Records in 2009, and he promoted the record as a support act on the Kaiser Chiefs' UK arena tour as well as on his own tour, joined by a live band that included his brother. He returned in 2012 with the EP Enmity, drawing on influences from Krautrock groups such as Cluster and Harmonia. The artist's catalog reflects a concise yet focused output within the English electropop and indie pop scene, spanning one studio album, one EP, and five singles.
