Singer-Songwriter - Harp Player - Producer
French singer-songwriter, alien-harpist, and producer Laura Perrudin came to the limelight in 2015 with her debut album 'Impressions', praised by Le Monde, the BBC, FiP and Les Inrocks for its fusion of alternative vocal jazz and impressionist electronics.
Fusing neo-soul with electronica and mutant folk, her 2017 release 'Poisons & Antidotes' showcased her unique voice and experimental prowess with the electric chromatic harp, a bespoke instrument crafted for her.
In 2020, she explored more danceable electric future-soul in her album 'Perspectives & Avatars', featuring Philippe Katerine, Mélissa Laveaux, Becca Stevens, Emel Mathlouthi, rapper Krismenn and drummer Ian Chang (Son Lux). Each song forms a character, creating a conceptual narrative.
She performs, orchestrates, and produces her live music using her DIY custom-made stage setup, "The Ghost Orchestra", leading to the live album "Featuring the Ghost Orchestra" (2023).
Balancing solo work, she recently collaborated with Austin Wintory, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Fabian Almazan, Anne Paceo, Théo Ceccaldi, and others.
Today, Laura Perrudin surrounds herself with hacker-musicians Thibault Florent on guitar (Mange Ferraille), Ronan Courty on double bass (Cabaret Contemporain), and Simon Bernier on drums (Ludovic Ernault) to present DOKSHA. This collective sonic odyssey to a utopian low-tech Sci-Fi world blends artisanal noise-groove with danceable future-soul, tinged with luminous pop elements and experimental ingenuity.
