Pantufla is a Mexican pop group known for creatively reinterpreting iconic songs originally performed by female artists, blending genres like ska, reggae, salsa, cumbia, and regional Mexican music. Formed by Valentino, Carlos, and Faisy, the group began over eight years ago as a bohemian jam session among friends, leading to the concept of “pantuflear”—offering male-voiced versions of beloved hits while maintaining their original lyrics. Their first release, a reggae-infused take on "¿Cómo te va mi amor?" by Pandora, gained traction online, sparking widespread demand and bookings. They have since reimagined classics from Selena, Alejandra Guzmán, Flans, Shakira, and even the Spice Girls, performing in over 50 shows across Mexico. Known for their humor and interactive performances, Pantufla’s concerts often feel like lively karaoke sessions where fans join in the fun. In 2024, they reunited for a new tour, ¡Que empiece la fiesta!, Pantufla continues to delight audiences, showcasing both reimagined tracks and their original material. With collaborations alongside artists like Mauricio Sánchez of Los Claxons and La Original Banda El Limón, Pantufla has cemented itself as a unique and entertaining presence in the Mexican pop scene.
