Pointless..." Point Mort's new album, out now!
FLOWER VIOLENCE
Point Mort is a French musical project; the artistic confluence of five musicians, divided by their tastes but gathered by a whole: a dissident Post Metal, with a snarling body, ardent and attentive, and with a critique but not contestant spirit, sincere and sensitive. A living creature with its strengths and weaknesses, reminiscent of a human being, to which he cannot really identify anymore.
Since 2017, disillusioned, but not defeated, the band carves its own path, labyrinthine and sinuous. With "Look at the Sky", first 5-track EP, recorded in a single day (Sylvain Biguet / Nick Zampiello),
The bands potential is already fully apparent.
An optimistic press on their side, the band quickly works its way to the Mainstage of the Motocultor Open Air (2017), on the Cuban roads with the Brutal Fest 2018 (Cuba), and alongside well-established bands (Impure Wilhelmina, Anaal Nathrakh, All that Remains, Psykup, Klone...).
Surprising by the sobriety of their uncompromising live performances, the band exults, in the shadows, without
glitz, and releases a wild and dreamlike energy.
Seduced by their first recording experience without a safety net, they record live again in 2018 and release
"R(h)ope" (Amaury Sauvé / Thibault Chaumont).
Acting as a unit, the group keeps moving forward without bending, and tightens the musical nerve, its intransigence and its singularity. The specialized press is enthusiastic, leading to reviews and interviews in national publication (New Noise / Hard Rock...). Another meaningful recognition, the band is booked at Hellfest Open Air and on numerous festivals (postponed in 2022).
Two years, a good number of disasters and a worldwide pandemic later, fatalism meets hope again, new music is written, and Point Mort finds its way back to the studio for the recording of their first LP, accompanied again by the duo Sauvé/Chaumont. The album will be released by Almost Famous (distribution via Season of Mist) on April 2022, the 29th.
The story is called "Pointless...", because the journey is still full of pitfalls, the drama is heavy, but the protagonists cling to these small suspension points.
The adventure and the landscapes offered by Point More are arid, violent, abrupt, dirty, but alive, they invite us to rise, to hope, to breathe.
A dense experience awaits the listener. 53 minutes of a journey where the living creature redefines its own limits, of composition and arrangement, and where each instrument, each melody, each rhythm speaks and unites, more honest than ever, in a common bond. Five musicians divided by their tastes and gathered in a whole.
Point Mort, is a unique and multiple entity
Between transcendence and introspection.
Its vibration is a floating sigh, its soundspace spreads without limits, its cry is bloody.
Three points in suspension...
A Point Mort.
