Lord Gary was born and raised in D.C. Lord Gary began rapping at the age of twelve (12). Not having the funds to go to studios, Lord Gary taught himself how to write, produce, mix, and even do his own graphics and artwork. In June 2007, Lord Gary won a local contest called “Hot 16”, where rappers spit a 16 bar verse and the viewers chose the winner. Lord Gary directed and edited his first video “Sheesh” in 2011. Lord Gary released a 90's/early 2000's era of hip-hop album titled “Tha Rewind” in 2013. The album received a write up on the Washington City Paper blog. In 2013, Lord Gary performed at half time during a Washington Wizards game. A feat that is rare for an unsigned artist. Lord Gary released his debut album "I Am Lord" in late 2018. The album gained Lord Gary three (3) Wammie nominations. Lord Gary released his sophmore album "Tired Of Life" in 2019, which garnered three (3) more Wammie noms for Lord Gary. Lord Gary released his third album "sYth Lord" in 2020 which gained him 2 more award nominations.
