El dúo de un compositor 🎼 🎬 y una baterista 🥁 haciendo alt rock
Kisspanic is a latin Alternative Rock- Hip Hop duo with Chilean roots but based in Los Angeles, California. Their lyrics thread through political, social and cultural fibers while their music ranges from catchy rock riffs and Latin folklore melodies to orchestral arrangements and synthesizers, all blending together into a unique sound. As band leader Rudi Meibergen says, "In times of division, Kisspanic intends to be a link of union between the Latin and North-American people through art."
The band was founded by Rudi (Creator, composer, writer, arranger, guitars, and vocals), Thomas Rojo (Bass) and Fer Fuentes (Drums). They have been releasing their new album song by song on all digital platforms, building a solid following, and a good acceptation on important Spotify playlists and elsewhere. Their first album, "Stereotape" will be released online in the next months.
Although two of the band members are from Chile, they both live in Los Angeles now. While Rudi was studying in LA he met Thomas Rojo from Fresno, CA. Thomas and Rudi became friends, then co-workers for several TV productions, and finally decided to start working on "Sterotape".
Then Thomas left the band and it became a duo with Fer Fuentes, a drummer Rudi worked with in Chile eventually joined the band, rounding it out into a strong, powerful, and unconventional duo. Fer's musical pedigree is strong. She was a member of Latin Grammy and MTV Award-nominated Chilean Group, Mamma Soul and has toured through all of Europe and South America with La Banda en Flor and performed with artists like Thalia, Debbie Gibson, Lauren Jauregui, Abraham Laboriel, Oscar Hernandez and Maluma.
The band is in the hands of triple platinum producer Darryl Swann, who has worked with John Frusciante, Rick Rubin, Macy Gray, Stevie Wonder, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, and the Black Eyed Peas, among many others. "Stereotape" was recorded at Clear Lake Recording, North Hollywood, the same studios used by No Doubt, Adam Levine, Flea, Jimmy Eat World, Anthrax, Back Street Boys, and Ringo Starr. The trio has plans to perform in Chile this summer. In the meantime, they have been performing in Los Angeles and México City.
