Cassandra Beck grew up in Boston listening to local punk and dreaming of softer, finer things. College found her in Art School in New York and it was there that she was invited to come "play around" in a friend's studio with his ensemble group. No one had any original material, so Jamie Lancaster suggested they try spinning some 80s into Rod Stewart's classic and it was pure gold. Cassandra went on to work with and befriend Stereo Dub, Ituana and Karen Souza and she looks back fondly on her student days downtown.
