Graham Bonney

Graham Bonney - born Graham Arthur Ernest George Bradly on June 2, 1943, in Basildon, England – is a pop vocalist who scored only one hit in his own country – “Super Girl” - but has scored over a dozen Top 50 hits in Germany. Originally a child actor, he turned to music in 1959 and formed his first group. He then joined the Espresso Five in 1961, the Ambers in 1962, before finally settling with the Riot Squad in 1964. Signed to Pye Records, the Riot Squad released three unsuccessful singles before Graham Bonney decided to leave the group and pursue a solo career. His second single, “Super Girl”, was a Top 20 hit in the UK but was a bigger hit in Europe, reaching the Top 10 in Germany. While he had a small amount of UK success with subsequent singles and albums such as Super Girl (1966) and Girls (1967), he continued to achieve great success in Germany. Focusing his attention on Germany, he scored many hit singles including "Das Girl mit dem La-La-La" (1966), "Siebenmeilenstiefel" (1967), and “Ich hab die ganze Nacht nur an Dich gedacht” (1973). He also had hits in Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, and other countries. During his European hit-making period, he also hosted several TV shows in Germany and the UK. While the hits dried up by the mid-1970s, he continued to tour Europe and has remained a popular live attraction.
