Canserbero is the stage name of Tirone José González Orama (March 11, 1988), a singer-songwriter and rapper from Caracas, Venezuela. Considered one of the best Latin American MCs of all time, his style was originally influenced by others genres such as reggae and reggaeton, but later veered towards socially conscious hip-hop after the murder of his brother. He began performing at freestyle rap battles at the age of 11 and was involved with the hip-hop collectives Códigos de Barrio and Supremacy Hip Hop Clan before making his official debut alongside Lil Supa on the mixtape Can+Zoo Índigo (2008), which would eventually achieve cult status in the underground rap scene. Guía Para la Acción, a compilation of previously unreleased material, appeared in 2009 and was followed by his critically acclaimed studio debut Vida in 2010. Only a year later, he issued the non-album single "Querer Querernos," whose acoustic version quickly became a favorite among his fan base. Widely regarded as one of the most important releases in the rap en español genre, his second studio effort Muerte saw the light in 2012 and found the MC dealing with subjects such as death, violence, and crime over hardcore hip-hop beats. Over the course of the next few years, Canserbero toured extensively throughout Latin America and Spain, and collaborated with fellow rappers Apache and Nico JP. Unfortunately, his burgeoning career was brought to a screeching halt after his death in an apparent murder-suicide on January 20, 2015.
