Born and raised in a little hamlet about 40 minutes north of Manchester, music has always been a big part of my life.
This little musical journey of mine started as a joke; singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in an audition to be part of the Blackburn Cathedral Music School way back in the early 2000s, a place I eventually called home for over 12 years. I absorbed everything I could while I was there, learning about every form of music available to me within the vast library hidden in the basement. From Brahms to Bach, Handel to Mozart. Chorales, Symphonies and everything in between. It’s because of this experience that I found the piano.
In 2012, I left for a new challenge - to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production from Leeds Conservatoire. I had the pleasure of working under the tutelage of some of the industry’s most respected professionals, from engineers straight out of Abbey Road Studios, to friends and colleagues who taught me the fundamental values of navigating through these somewhat turbulent waters of the music industry.
Whilst I’ve always strived for perfection within my recordings, it’s in the imperfections that I capture that I've now come to embrace. The subtle sound of felt hitting the strings or the piano keys clinking against one another in the quieter sections of a piece. It’s within these humanistic blemishes within my music, that I find comfort.
