The Axis of Awesome, an Australian musical comedy act consisting of Jordan Raskopoulos, Lee Naimo, and Benny Davis, formed in 2006. The trio gained initial traction through stand-up comedy nights and a fortnightly segment on FBi Radio. Their breakthrough came with rap parodies lampooning the 2007 Australian Federal Election, leading to performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The Axis of Awesome released their debut album Scissors, Paper, Rock! in 2008. Their most notable work, "Four Chords", a medley of popular songs using the I–V–vi–IV chord progression, went viral on YouTube and received millions of views. The band performed at multiple comedy festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe, and released several albums, such as Animal Vehicle (2011), Cry Yourself a River (2012), Christmawesome (2013), and Viva La Vida Loca Las Vegas (2016). In 2018, the band announced their disbandment, a year after taking a break.
