Taylor Davis

Taylor Davis, born March 20, 1987, in Western Springs, Illinois, is an American violinist known for her classical crossover music. Inspired by a young violinist performing "Silent Night" at her elementary school, Davis began playing the violin at age eight and studied at Gonzaga University. She initially pursued a career in game, film, or media music but took a job in business while uploading videos on a video streaming platform under the name "ViolinTay." In November 2011, she dedicated herself full-time to her musical career on the platform. Davis released her first album, Gaming Fantasy, in May 2012. Her self-titled album, released in March 2015, marked her first collection of original compositions. Davis's video channel has garnered over 150,000,000 views and 1,000,000 subscribers, with her cover of "He’s a Pirate" from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl being particularly popular.
