Twenty-two year old R&B sensation Lehla Samia is the newly signed artist of CMG Records and is the first R&B artist to join the label’s ranks. Her CMG debut “Call On Me,” harnesses the nostalgia of ‘90s R&B mixed with an upgraded sound, thanks to Lehla’s timeless style. The song contains a sample of SWV’s classic “You’re The One,” only adding to the vibes of real R&B.
Born and raised in Delaware, Lehla found her start while in nursing school, uploading covers to Instagram. She later recorded full-fledged remixes of tracks, which she called “LehMixes.” The songs gained traction across social media platforms, particularly her LehMix of Queen Naija’s “Butterflies.” She kept the momentum going, dropping more LehMixes, which led to the explosive “No More Parties.” To date, she has 1.2 million followers and 14 million likes on TikTok, with user creations constantly growing.
Lehla’s success ultimately led to Yo Gotti and his team at CMG reaching out over Instagram. Her label debut single “Call On Me” released in 2022 was the intro to her sound. Since then, Lehla has been featured on the CMG Compilation project, Gangsta’s Pain, alongside labelmates Moneybagg Yo, EST Gee, and more. She also wrapped her first stream of shows after being featured as a supporting act on Tink’s “Thanks 4 Everything” Tour, all while preparing for the release of her debut EP Lovers Wave Vol. 1 coming in mid July.
