K-pop bright sparks CRAVITY—aka Serim, Allen, Jungmo, Woobin, Wonjin, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung, and Seongmin—were formed by Starship Entertainment in 2020 and stepped out with their debut chart-topping EP Season 1. Hideout: Remember Who We Are that year. This marked the beginning of a trio of hit releases, with Season 2. Hideout: The New Day We Step Into following in August 2020, also going to number one on the South Korean Gaon Album Chart and number 15 on Japan's Oricon Albums Chart. That year, they became the first 2020 rookie artist to debut on the Billboard K-pop Hot 100 and picked up a string of awards, including New Artist of the Year at the 12th Melon Music Awards, Best of Next at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Rookie Award at the 4th Soribada Awards. They concluded the trilogy with Hideout: Be Our Voice in January 2021 before unleashing the first part of their debut studio album The Awakening: Written in the Stars in August 2021, which went to number three on the South Korean Gaon Album Chart. The second part of their debut studio album, Liberty: In Our Cosmos, was released in March 2022 and shot to the top of South Korea's Gaon Chart. The group's fourth EP, New Wave, followed in September 2022 with two more emerging in 2023: Master: Piece and Sun Seeker. The group's first Japanese EP, Dilly Dally, arrived in December 2023 and the group dropped their seventh mini-album, Evershine, in February 2024. The record reached number two on South Korea's Circle Album Chart.
