“You are so special!”. Jessie J’s euphoric, breathless verdict crackled around the main stage and out into the charged night air of Banffy Castle, the venue for the 6th edition of the Transylvania’s Electric Castle festival. 40,000 music fans roared back in agreement. Pop royalty had just invited 10 year old local girl, Adalia, up on stage for an impromptu duet. Pop royalty, along with the audience, had looked on in awe as Adalia’s effortless vocals created a magic moment.
“That was one of the best days of my life” gushed Jessie to Adalia, pausing to sum her thoughts before adding, “You are so special!”. And in that moment, with those words, a star was born.
30M YouTube views and 2 years later, 13-year-old Adalia’s performance of Masterpiece with Jessie J has earned her a worldwide legion of fans and followers. Her musical talents continue to blossom with songwriting, piano, dance, choreography and -of course- singing all competing for spare hours of the day.
In 2020, these talents combined when Adalia was cast in the lead role of the Matilda stage production, kindling a newfound passion for musical theatre alongside pop music.
Adalia cites Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes and -unsurprisingly- Jessie J amongst her musical influences. In her own words, her goal is “to become a superstar” – who would bet against her?
