Born in Saint-Étienne, France on May 31st, 1983, Christian-Pierre La Marca is a cellist who has become a fixture on the international concert and chamber music scenes. Elder brother of Adrien La Marca (born in 1989), he began taking cello lessons in Aix-en-Provence before moving to Paris to continue his studies at the conservatory with Jean-Marie Gamard and Philippe Muller. Working with private teachers, he also studied in Cologne, Germany with Frans Helmerson and London, England, with Stephen Isserlis. Encouraged by classical icons such as Itzhak Perlman, Seiji Ozawa, Maria-João Pires, and others. Christian-Pierre La Marca performed at many of the world's top concert halls, including the Louvre and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Southbank Centre in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the Philharmonie in Berlin, Germany, the 92nd Street Y in New York, New York, and many other esteemed venues around the world. Christian-Pierre La Marca has appeared as a soloist with many major orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Brussels Philharmonic and Les Siècles. Christian-Pierre La Marca was a founding member of Trio Dali, a classical chamber ensemble that won several international competitions in Japan, Germany, Austria, and the U.S. Christian-Pierre La Marca’s catalog includes releases with Trio Dali – Sonate Pour Violon & Piano (2008), Fantasie (2011), and Mendelssohn Trios (2015) – as well as several solo albums including Cello 360 (2020) and Wonderful World (2021).
