Please check out our new single 'Sick Sad Alone'! Much love, Loser Company
Loser Company's slacker indie rock vibes call out to those who've ever felt like they were on the losing side of life. They're on a mission to make music infused with melancholic joy that helps you through tough times and reminds you to stay humble when times are good. They invite you to be less alone through loss, pain, and anguish - or, as they like to say, "Lose, with us."
Metro-Detroit childhood friends, Mas Kihira and Will Saunders reunited again years later in California through happenstance… or perhaps fate? Destructive fires had left fertile soil for new growth. They had nothing to lose and everything to gain, and so they began making music again, with a newfound clarity and purpose.
Loser Company was founded in 2017 with a string of 10 singles followed by their 2018 EP 'Blueberry Skies' – containing the underground hit single by the same name.
In December 2019, they met drummer Shawn Stafford at a Los Angeles venue and two became three – just in time for the pandemic. The isolation laid the groundwork for their first full length album, 'The Floor', which also features Will's sister Olivia Saunders a.k.a. Saundy contributing her talents on 2 songs for a fresh new sound for the band.
'The Floor' was produced by Jeff Friedl (Devo, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Altitudes & Attitude, The Beta Machine) and was recorded at Secret Hand Studios in Los Angeles with the help of Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle, The Beta Machine, Poppy, Puscifer). 'The Floor' will be fully released in 2024.
Loser Company also recorded a live version of 'The Floor,' featuring Saundy, joined by Alexa Lozano Jirado (piano/vocals) and Jordan Blackmon (backup guitar). Fans can expect exclusive audio recorded by Matt McJunkins, produced by Jeff Friedl and video captured from this session by Ed Shiers. The full Live at Secret Hand session will be released in its entirety in 2024 to support the album release.
