Good Music! Good Vibes! ALL 2023 đ
Born and raised in London, Jael is a Singer, Songwriter and Wordsmith who poetically fuses experiences from her life in London with her deep, African roots. Often likened to Erykah Badu and Asa due to her delivery and lyrical flair, her influences include Badu, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and Chronixx. These influences can be heard throughout her sweet blend of Neo-Soul, R&B and Jazz. Jael has an extraordinary way of captivating her audiences and connecting them with truths. With a gift for storytelling and songwriting, Jaelâs evocative lyrics and vocal finesse expose a truly empathic artist whose atmospheric vocals have the ability to impact her listeners.
From writing songs and choreographing dances on the playground to graduating with a First Class (Hons) and Masters (Dist.) from the London College of Music, Jael is an Artist whose passion and dedication have led her to become a well-versed and sought-after musician. She spent the majority of her lockdown penning songs for other artists. Dubbed a âvocal acrobatâ, Jael is a contralto and has a live performance that needs to be seen to be believed.
Jael has played at more venues than she can count, including The Jazz Cafe and Islington O2. Her last two releases premiered on BBC Introducing Essex, the first being named "Weekly Vibe (Track of the Week)". Amassing 1M+ streams on streaming platforms, Jael has collaborated with acts such as Blue Lab Beats, Aaron London and Boadi. In 2016, she gained recognition internationally with her singles, âFollow You Goâ and âFire Deyâ, which many said were âreminiscent of Fela Kuti and his timeless Afrobeat vibesâ. She has since received an abundance of positive reviews and feedback from blogs and radio stations such as NotJustOk, Irie Magazine and BBC Introducing Essex.
In a world of hyper-sexualised ladies and a growing herd mentality, Jael is an ambassador for individuality and self-love. Jael is currently working on her debut project, due to be released this year.
