Riva

Riva was a Croatian pop band formed in Zadar in 1986  and became known for its melodic pop sound. . The group gained initial recognition by performing "Zadnja Suza" at Zagrebfest 1988. Their breakthrough came with the win of the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 in Switzerland with "Rock Me", securing a score of one hundred and thirty-seven points and marking Yugoslavia's first and only Eurovision victory. Following this success, Riva released two albums: Rock Me (1989) and Srce Laneta (1990). Disagreements over the portrayal of Croatia's independence led to the band disbanding in 1991, with only a few small reunions taking place between 1993 and 2016.
