GJART creates electronic music that revives and modernises the great synth sounds of the 80’s.
GJART was born in 2015, although in reality it was 30 years in the making. After two years of writing, in June 2017 my debut album Revelation was ready and released. It contains 10 instrumental tracks from synth-pop to EDM and trance with a chill-out end.
My musical interests and influences are very wide; Ella Fitzgerald to Pink Floyd wide! What they all have in common is great melody and hooks, something that I try to emulate in my music. Lyrics are also important to me so I try not to write trite ones and often put cultural references in them. Although sometimes you do just need a word of phrase that fits!
In 2018 I started collaborating with the musician, producer and serial collaborator Deggsy. This lead to my sophomore album Canorous being released in October 2018. It contains eight synth-pop tracks and a couple of surprises - all with vocals.
Since then I’ve been releasing more singles and I'm working on my third album.
