La Fouine

French rapper of Moroccan origin, Laouni Mouhid aka La Fouine, born in Trappes on December 25, 1981, was one of the biggest names in the genre in the 2010s. His West Coast-influenced rap broke through in the mid-2000s with "L'Unité" from his debut album, Bourré au Son (2005). Aller Retour (2007) and Mes Repères (2009), continue the discography of an artist who is also fond of mixtapes, as shown by Capitale du Crime, Vol. 1 & 2. In 2011, La Fouine makes a new start and splits into two in La Fouine vs Laouni. In 2011, the sequel Capitale du Crime, Vol. 3 welcomes back a host of new faces. His fifth album Drôle de Parcours was released in February 2013. In 2014, he goes gold with Team BS and is the instigator of a hard-hitting Capitale du Crime Vol. 4. He returned to his solo activities in 2016 with his seventh solo album, Nouveau Monde , and the following year he released a new mixtape, the fifth volume of Capitale du Crime, which he dubbed CDCC . He then took a short break from music and the media, but returned in 2020 with a new album, Bénédictions, followed a year later by XXI (2021). The multi-gold and platinum-selling phenomenon remained silent for a further three years, before returning in 2024 with the sequel to his series, the Capitale du Crime Radio mixtape, featuring a host of French rap stars including Youssoupha, Franglish, Koba LaD, S.Pri Noir, Leto and Dinos. It also marked his return to the charts at number 7. 2025 saw the release of État des Lieux, a No. 2 album featuring Ninho, Nessbeal, Genezio, KLN and Merveille.
